| Overview |
A freestanding 40,000 sq. ft. facility dedicated to outpatient cancer care, which is a joint venture partnership between Saint Mary's Hospital and Waterbury Hospital. The Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center is independently incorporated, and a not-for-profit entity that is governed by a Board of Directors. Two highly respected private medical oncology practices on-site. Three Board certified radiation oncologists on-site. The best, most advanced radiation treatment planning systems and treatment machines, including two Varian 2100Scx linear accelerators with 80 Multileaf Collimators, Phillips Wide-bore ACQSIM CT simulator, Varian Eclipse 3D Treatment Planning (3D CRT), PET/CT fixed scanner, IMPAC software information system, and Quality Control information management software. dynamic Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (dIMRT). Ask your physician if you are a candidate for dIMRT.

| The Center shall provide access to the most advanced therapies for the person with cancer including access to clinical trials. The board and staff shall actively seek information about innovations in prevention, diagnosis, treatment, education, and support in planning future services for the Center. The Center shall also be a source of cancer-related information and services for the residents of greater Waterbury and the surrounding communities. |
